9/11....A day to celebrate or remember?

September 11th. This day was a truly tragic day in the history of our country.

2,753

That is the number of how many people died because some terrorists decided they needed to hijack two planes into a building. This is one of the more traumatic days for our country that I have been alive for that I remember well.

So I decided to get my haircut (bare with me, this segue is a good one)
The hairstylist says, "Would you like to hear our specials?"
Me, "Well of course! I love specials!"
Hairstylist then tells me of their 9/11 special. 9 Foils for 11 Dollars.

Oh man did it take a lot out of me to not say anything.

Since when do we celebrate a bunch of people dying? Since when do we celebrate an attack by a bunch of jihadists on our beloved country.

Some people do not know this but I served in the military for 5 years. I never did anything extremely fancy or noble. But I did serve. While serving our military I gained a huge feeling of Patriotism. I learned to love my country with everything in me. Had I been deployed I would have gone.

I have 2 friends I knew rather well in the military that have since been KIA. I also have a friend who lost a parent in 9/11. I hate the thought of getting my hair done cheaper because these people died.

The sad part? The hair salon was not the only place running 9/11 specials.

I was curious who else were doing these tasteless sales.

Yes my friends this is no joke. These are human beings who need an education on tact and class.

September 11th is nothing to joke about. It is a day we should remember in reverent observance. It wasn't just a fluke. A group of men chose to hijack airplanes in our country and kill thousands of Americans and injure thousands more.

Americans lost their husbands, wives, children, friends.
Firefighters ran up flights of stares while everyone else ran down.
Americans jumped out of buildings praying the whole way down they would survive.
Americans got stuck under piles of rubble, some for days slowly dying of exhaustion and toxic fumes.

Our country, our beloved America was ruthlessly attacked. Why the hell should we make a day of fun from it and have sales to celebrate all these horrific events.

No, hair stylist lady...i do not want foils cheaper because 2,753 people had to die for no reason.

Do you mind saying which salon did that? I don't want to give them much business. I feel sick reading that.
